| population | Saudi Arabia, Asir | “Pharmacogenomics knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions among pharmacists in the Asir Region, Saudi Arabia: a cross-sectional analysis. As personalized medicine progresses in Saudi Arabia, pharmacists endure a central role in pharmacogenomics (PGx) implementation. This cross-sectional study weighed the knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions (KAP) of pharmacists in the Asir region regarding PGx, a region with limited published data. These findings highlight an imperative need for structured PGx training programs, integration of PGx into pharmacy curricula, ongoing professional development workshops, and institutional strategies to support operative PGx adoption in healthcare settings across the Asir region and Saudi Arabia.” | 0.95 | saudi_context_rules_v1 |
| population | Saudi Arabia, Asir | “RESULTS: In 2021, the incidence of idiopathic epilepsy in Asia was 1,494,996.042 (95% UI: 1,096,849.405∼1,886,986.598), with an age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR) of 34.035/100,000. Saudi Arabia had the highest ASIR (67.05/100,000), while Democratic People's Republic of Korea had the lowest (21.737/100,000). From 1990 to 2021, the global ASIR of idiopathic epilepsy showed an overall increasing trend with fluctuations.” | 0.95 | saudi_context_rules_v1 |
| population | Saudi Arabia, Asir | “First serological evidence and risk factor analysis of Neospora caninum and Besnoitia besnoiti infections in cattle and sheep from three regions of Saudi Arabia. Despite their economic impact, epidemiological data from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) remain scarce. This study aimed to determine the seroprevalence of N. caninum and B. besnoiti in cattle and sheep across Asir, Jeddah, and Al-Qassim regions of KSA and to assess the influence of potential risk factors, including species, sex, age, breed, season, and management system. Higher seroprevalence was observed in the Asir region, among female animals, and in those aged >1-5 years.” | 0.95 | saudi_context_rules_v1 |
| population | Saudi Arabia, Asir | “RESULTS: From 1990 to 2019, thyroid cancer incidence cases in China increased by 289.6%, with a higher AAPC of age-standardised incidence rate (ASIR) in men. Joinpoint analysis pinpointed significant shifts in overall ASIR and ASMR, with the most pronounced increase in ASIR during 2003-2011 in China and 2003-2010 in the G20. Predictions suggested a continual ASIR uptrend, especially in the 50-69 age group, coupled with a predicted ASMR downturn among the elderly by 2040. Moreover, the proportion of thyroid cancer deaths attributable to high body mass index (BMI) escalated, with significant increase in Saudi Arabia and a rise to 7.4% in China in 2019.” | 0.95 | saudi_context_rules_v1 |

| population | Saudi Arabia, Asir | “Potential impact of GCK, MIR-196A-2 and MIR-423 gene abnormalities on the development and progression of type 2 diabetes mellitus in Asir and Tabuk regions of Saudi Arabia. In the present study, the association of the single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the GCK, MIR‑196A‑2 and MIR‑423 genes with susceptibility to T2DM in patients from two regions of Saudi Arabia were examined, using the tetra‑primer amplification refractory mutation system.” | 0.95 | saudi_context_rules_v1 |
| population | Saudi Arabia, Asir | “Metabolic Syndrome and Cardiometabolic Risk Factors in the Mixed Hypercholesterolemic Populations with Respect to Gender, Age, and Obesity in Asir, Saudi Arabia. This record study aimed to investigate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS) profiles regarding sex, age, and obesity for the riskier factor of cardiovascular diseases in a general population in Saudi Arabia. The study was applied in a Polyclinic, Abha, Saudi Arabia in 2020 G. Our study strongly suggests that the consumption of unhealthy junk food, tobacco smoking, lack of exercise, and physical inactivity could be conclusive evidence of MetS in the Saudi population.” | 0.95 | saudi_context_rules_v1 |
| population | Saudi Arabia, Asir | “Molecular detection of Candidatus Anaplasma camelii in camels (Camelus dromedarius) from Asir Province, Saudi Arabia. Knowledge of molecular identification of tick-borne pathogens in camels in Saudi Arabia is very limited; few molecular epidemiological studies have been under taken. This study was to detect Anaplasma spp. and Piroplasma spp. in camels from Asir Province, Saudi Arabia. A total of 150 blood samples were collected from camels in Asir Province and investigated by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) that targeted 18S rRNA and 23S rRNA to detect the DNA of Piroplasma spp. and Anaplasma spp., respectively. They recorded 99.16% and 99.34% similarities (respectively) with KF843825.1 (Candidatus Anaplasma camelii reported in Unizah, Saudi Arabia). Phylogenetic analyses revealed that the two sequences recorded in this study were close to each other; both were located in one cluster with Candidatus Anaplasma camelii isolates that were recorded before in the adjacent areas of Unizah in Saudi Arabia and Iran. In conclusion: two new Anaplasma genotypes close to Candidatus Anaplasma camelii were found in camels in Asir Province, Saudi Arabia for the first time.” | 0.95 | saudi_context_rules_v1 |
